In 1979 there was a meeting of the past, the present and the future. There was a blinding light of awakening that only happens very rarely in music. The dinosaur bands of the past had been blown away by the punk explosion of a couple of years earlier. Punk was dead and burning away on it's own bile. It had served it's pupose to clear the way for the dawning of a new era.

New wave, the new Modernists, Northern Soul, Motown and ska brought life to a new generation that had lived through the wasteland of the mid to late seventies. There was an excitment in the air that something was happening and that it would change peoples lives forever.

The Decoys are a three piece band that is a celebration of this era and recreate that excitment of the time whether it was in a night club, a concert hall or a scooter run.
